Alexandria

The day after Micah's parents left we hopped in the car and drove to Alexandria, Virginia for my cousin Elizabeth's wedding. She looked beautiful....

Weddings are just an excuse for family reunions. The focus used to be on extended family, but now that everyone's grown and gone, it's more about the immediate family reunion.

The cousins were cute. Hannah and Skylar actually played together without screaming. And there was no biting this time. I won't say who the biter is, only that it isn't MY child......

A wedding was the perfect occasion to pimp the miniature suit.....

Skylar danced for hours. Literally from the time we got to the reception to the time we dragged her home to bed. She barely stopped to eat. The elbows are her signature move.....

Sister picture for the first time in years....

Where to begin....

This has been a crazy busy month.

Family, travel, vacation after vacation, packing, unpacking, repacking......lots of fun and no time for blogging! And even if there had been the motivation time, there was no Internet at our house this month anyway. We broke up with Verizon and haven't been home long enough for the new provider to come set it up. Not to mention I've lost all track of time. I don't even know what day it is most of the time and now....HELLO...it's almost November for cryin' out loud.

So,"what we've been up to" installment one:

Micah's parents came from Kansas to help welcome him home. GranBabe decked out the front porch with festive fall decorations and bought the kids a new wardrobe. Bill worked the BBQ, creating feast after feast for us---scallops, salmon, chicken, ribs, pulled pork...and that's just what I remember. My jeans always getter tighter when they visit, but it's soooo worth it.

Finley was S.P.O.I.L.E.D. when Granbabe/Mimi left.

We had a late birthday celebration for Gayle, which of course was an excuse to eat cake. Not one cake, but two, mind you. Skylar and I couldn't decide so we each picked our favorite.

Micah was pretty happy to be back in America.....

Skylar was pretty happy to have so many other adults around after being stuck with just me for most of a year.....

Cutie cute cute....

We are excited to be in a new chapter of life...a together chapter:)

Next up...Virginia wedding weekend.
