A sad substitute.

When we moved here I gave up all of my favorite places.

We have no Costco.

No Hobby Lobby.

No World Market.

No Chipotle.

No Chic-fil-a.

Because it's a small town without much variety, places like Target don't have sales or clearances because they sell out of everything immediately.

The closest decent shopping is over an hour away. And they don't have any of the above mentioned places either.

But we do have this........

Not even the same thing.

  1. Welcome to my world.

I just went to my fist World Market EVER two weeks ago when we went to Bozeangeles. I bought pumpkin beer, which incidentally wasn't that good, but I am enjoying the cute bottles as vases.

And Chik-Fil-A. Nathan and I dream about the day when the nearest Chik-fil-A is closer than 8 hours away in Salt Lake City. I am planning a winter escape to SLC so we can go to Chik Fil A and the Temple.

And craft stores? We had a mini-michaels but it closed, so now we have .... Ben Franklin! (Seriously a craft store named after a philandering signer of the constitution?).

    So anyway, I feel ya.

  2. I guess Sven sold his part to Ollie to move to where there is less snow and all the other stuff you mentioned.

  4. I think of you everytime I eat at Chipotle. When you come for a visit we can eat at all of those places. Make sure you leave room in your suitcase and we can do a shopping trip too! Miss you guys

  5. Amen Sister! I guess my response kind of mimics Angela's since we are in the same corner of the world...but I drive 90 miles one way to WALMART! And they simply NEVER have everything I need. And fast food? Well that is 90 miles away too! But it is soooo worth it and it forces me to be organized. Seriously. Just makes you appreciate traveling so much more!

  6. Okay, I have nothing to complain about compared to you people in Montana:) We have two Wal-marts and a Target within 6 miles. It could be soooooo much worse!
And Amy-I miss our wednesday Chipotle lunch dates!!

  7. You poor thing! You're always welcome to visit us in Bloomington, where we'll be sure to eat at Chipotle (and Noodles, too--they have a wonderful whole grain Tuscan linguine w/grilled chicken I always order). We'll also visit our 3 craft stores...Michael's, Hobby Lobby & Jeffrey Alans. I used to think we had no shopping here (compared to Chicago, anyway, which has EVERYTHING and every restaurant you can imagine). I guess it's all in your perspective. Aunt Raina
